Featuring the work of WanJean
The Concrete Rose Project is honored to have the work of WanJean currently exhibited at Blu – Art & Wellness Gallery, located at 580 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802—a space known for curating art that heals, challenges, and restores the human spirit.
About the Work
WanJean’s paintings and sculptural forms embody the very essence of the concrete rose—beauty born from pressure, grace forged through endurance, and dignity rising where it was never expected to survive. Her figures are unapologetically powerful: women as guardians of light, history, and truth; faces that carry memory; forms that speak to resilience, liberation, and spiritual awakening.
The large-scale OG Lady Liberty imagery, illuminated with intentional lighting, evokes protection and revelation—chains transformed into symbols of awareness rather than bondage, lanterns lifted as guides through darkness. The surrounding portraiture grounds the viewer in humanity, ancestry, and emotional truth, creating a dialogue between the divine and the lived experience.
This exhibition is not just visual—it is felt. It invites reflection, stillness, and reconnection.

Gratitude to the Venue
We extend our deepest thanks to Blu – Art & Wellness Gallery for creating a home for this work and for supporting artists whose voices speak to healing, justice, and cultural legacy. Blu’s commitment to art as wellness aligns seamlessly with the mission of The Concrete Rose Project—to uplift stories too often overlooked and to transform space into sanctuary.
